tourists at home

we played tourists in VA Beach yesterday. we had a nice time at the aquarium and then finished the day with dinner at capt. george's.

there's even a cemetery

here are the pics i got from kerri's camera. they are a bit fuzzy, but you get the idea. i threw in one crowd shot from my camera as well. this was the crowd in front, but the stands were packed as well. we had not yet whipped out the cameras when willie was playing, and neither of our pics of dylan turned out (by that time, it was dark).

on saturday, we went to see willie nelson, john mellencamp, and bob dylan at harbor park. what a great show! the first pic below is the kid not-too-enthused with willie. but by the time mellencamp took the stage, we had moved onto the field and she perked right up! the show very nice - harbor park is a great place for a show. the acoustics worked very well in the baseball stadium. mellencamp was the most fun, i think, for us all. he opened with pink houses and the acoustic version of paper and fire was great. sadly, however, there was no jack and diane. it was great to see dylan live before it was too late. more pics are to follow. kerri has great photos of the bands; i will post as soon as i can get them from her.

does anyone know what type of plant this is?

it grew out of a mixture of annual wildflower seeds that were planted into that pot. it's getting outrageously tall [and it's fuzzy] and i have no idea what in the world it can be.

summer slighting

i've been feeling a bit ill the last few days (weeks?). in light of that and some actual progress at studying (as well as the below), there has not been much going on with my pages in a while. perhaps something exciting will happen soon.

a few notes about the summer so far: 1) i am addicted to a particular game on facebook that is just like boggle. figures, then, i am addicted. 2) i've caught up on watching movies. the last one i watched was 'knowing'. that's all i have to say about that.

update 07/22: something exciting is in the works. maybe i just needed to say something aloud. that seems to be the case as of late. the excitement (or so i hope it is) is that we are going to see bob dylan, john mellencamp and willie nelson on saturday.
